Grow a bean in a jar

Watch the root come out first, just like in the video. It takes about a week.

  1. Wet towel in a jar

Put a wet paper towel inside a clear jar.

  2. Tuck in a bean

Slide a bean seed between the paper towel and the glass, so you can see it.

  3. Warm and bright

Keep the towel wet and put the jar in a warm, bright spot.

  4. Look every day

Check on it each day. Does the root come out first? Draw it in your workbook log!

👋 Ask a grown-up to help you. Beans are for growing, not for eating raw.
